Indigenous artists, composers, and musicians are shining in the video game spotlight.
In celebration of NAIDOC week 2023, Meena Shamaly celebrates FIrst Nations artists and their contributions to the world of video games. This episode features the massive global hit Cult of the Lamb, one of the most celebrated games of 2022, featuring the home-grown music of Narayana Johnson A.K.A. River Boy.
Also featured is the music of Allara Briggs-Pattison and James Henry in 64 Ways of Being, Brett Leavy in Virtual Songlines, and Barry Rainman Boland (in collaboration with Tim Sunderland) for the post-apocalyptic adventures of Broken Roads.
This episode also ventures out to South America with Brian D'Oliveira in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, as well as New Caledonia with John Robert Matz in Tchia, featuring local artists singing in Drehu.
